Rebellion in the country side

Answer» (i) After the British were routed from Delhi there was\xa0no uprising\xa0for\xa0almost\xa0a\xa0week. Then a spurt of mutinies began.\xa0(ii) Regiment after Regiment mutinied and took off to join other troops\xa0at nodal\xa0points like Delhi, Kanpur and Lucknow.\xa0(iii)After them, the people of the towns and villages also rose up in rebellion. They raised around local leaders, zamindars and chiefs who were prepared to established their authority and fight the British.(iv) In\xa0this rebel Nana Saheb of Kanpur, Birjis Qadr of Lucknow and his mother\xa0Begum Hazrat Mahal, Rani Lakshmibai of\xa0Jhansi\xa0took\xa0active part\xa0in\xa0organizing\xa0the\xa0uprising against the British. Rani Avantibai Lodhi of Ramgarh\xa0raised\xa0and led the army\xa0agains the British who had taken over the administration of her state.\xa0(v)Many new leaders also came up and joined the revolt. Ahmaduallh Shah, a maulvi from Faizabad, came Lucknow to fight the British.
