Rahul_ owns a rectangular field of length 400 m and breadth 200 m. His friend Ramu_ owns asquare field of length 300 m. Find the cost of fencing the two fields at 150 per meter. If onetree can be planted in an area of 10 sq m.who can plant more trees in his field? How manymore trees can he plant? |

Answer» Answer: For RAHUL's field, l=400m b=200m Therefore, perimeter=2(l+b) =2(400+200)m =1200m Therefore, COST for FENCING the field=Rs150*1200 =Rs 180000 Again, Area of the field=l*b =400*200 m² =80000 m² Therefore, the no. of trees Rahul can plant=80000m²/10m² =8000 For Ramu's Field, Given, side=300m Therefore, Perimeter=4*s =4*300m =1200m Therefore, cost of fencing the field=Rs150*1200 =Rs 180000 Again, Area of the field=S*S =300*300 m² =90000m² Therefore, no. of trees ramu can plant=90000m²/10m² =9000 Therefore, Ramu can plant more trees than Rahul by 9000-8000=1000 trees |
