THEREFORE according to the question
case 1 :- x= 4 Y
ages 4 years from now will be X + 4 and Y + 4
and case 2:- X + 4 + Y + 4= 43
substituting the value of x from case 1 we get
4y+4+y+4=43
5Y= 43- 8
5y=35
y=7
therefore the present age of son is 7 years
