Report on a Flood

Bharatpur, July 28
It has been raining continuously from last two days. The Ban Ganga river is flowing above the danger mark. There is water everywhere. Almost all nearby villages are affected due to the flood water. Many people have become homeless. Survival has become very difficult. There is a great loss of property. Rescue workers are trying their best to save people from drowning. Affected people are being provided with food packets and dry clothes. N.G.O’s have also come forward to extend help. They are providing all possible help to the people. Rescue teams are also facing difficulties because of continuous rain and power-cut. Schools and colleges have been closed until the situation becomes normal.

भरतपुर, 28 जुलाई:
पिछले दो दिनों से लगातार वर्षा हो रही है। बाण गंगा नदी खतरे के निशान से ऊपर बह रही है। चारों तरफ पानी ही पानी है। आस-पास के लगभग सभी गाँव बाढ़ के पानी से प्रभावित हुए हैं। बहुत से व्यक्ति बेघर हो गये हैं। यहाँ जिन्दा रहना कठिन है। सम्पत्ति को भारी नुकसान हुआ है। बचाव दल के लोग डूबते हुए लोगों को बचाने का पूरा प्रयास कर रहे हैं। प्रभावित लोगों को भोजन के पैकेट व वस्त्र प्रदान किये जा रहे हैं। गैर-सरकारी संस्थाएँ भी सहायता हेतु आगे आईं हैं। वे लोगों को हर सम्भव सहायता पहुँचा रही हैं। बचाव दलों को भी लगातार बारिश के होने और बिजली के न होने से कठिनाई का सामना करना पड़ रहा है। स्थिति सामान्य होने तक स्कूल व कालेजों को बन्द कर दिया गया है।
