[MATH]\cos(x) = \sqrt{1-\sin^2(x)}[/math]so[math]4+\cos(x)/2 = 4 + \sqrt{1-\sin^2(x)}/2[/math] put [math]x = \PI[/math] , and [math] 4 - 1/2 = 4 + 1/2[/math]which means[math]2 + 2 = 4 +1/2 + 1/2 = 5.[/math]
