Please tell substituting method

Answer»

Substituting method is used  to find the value of variables that are in the FORM of linear equation in two variables.

It is used by keeping the value of FIRST variable in another equation.

Example: let  two equations are as follow 2x+3y=8  and 3x+9Y=12.

Now, 2x+3y=8

x=(8-3y)/2.

By putting this value in eq.2,

3x+9y=12

3(8-3y)/2 + 9y =12

(24-9y)/2 + 9y =12

12 - 4.5y +  9y =12

4.5 y  =  0

y  = 0.

By putting the value of y in eq.q,

2x+3y= 8

2x + 3*0  =8

2x=8

x=4.

Through this way we can find the value of variables by Substituting method.
