Given:-

Speed of Bus = 42km/h

Time taken to Cover Distance = 5h

To Find:-

How MUCH time would it save if it's speed is increased by 8 km/h.

Formulae used:

Distance = Speed × Time

How To solve?

First we will find the total Distance covered by the bus.

After that we will find the time taken to Cover same distance if speed increases as per given

Now,

→ Distance = Speed × Time

→ Distance = 42 × 5

→ Distance Covered = 210km

Hence, The Total Distance covered by bus is 210km

ATQ,

If the SPEED is increased by 8km/h

Therefore,

→ New Speed = 42 + 8 → 50km/h.

Now,

→ Distance = New Speed × Time

→ 210 = 50 × Time

→ Time = 210/50

→ Time = 4.2h

So, The new time taken by car to cover same distance after the INCREASE in speed is 4.2h

So,

→ Time SAVED = Original Time - New Time

→ Time saved = 5 - 4.2

→ Time Saved = 0.8h

So, The Time saved by bus is 0.8h.
