Answer» c) III > IV > I > IIPara-nitro PHENOL is most acidic due to -R activity, as Phenol is activating in nature when -R GROUP present in ortho-para POSITION. Then, meta nitro phenol as it shows -I behaviour at meta position and it is also activating. Then, normal phenol. LEAST is the para methoxy phenol as it shows +R activity in para position, which is deactivating for phenol. Also, -R is dominant over-I , so Para nitro phenol is most acidic. hope this will help you |
