Answer» Answer: Parasites usually lack a WELL developed digestive system. Tapeworms have no digestive tract so they must eat food already digested by another animal. That is precisely what they do as a parasite inside our intestines. Tapeworms ABSORB nutrients directly across their skin (cuticle). They also reproduce inside us. Due to the lack of a body cavity, flatworms are known as acoelomates. Flatworms have an INCOMPLETE digestive system. This means that the digestive tract has only one opening. Digestion TAKES place in the gastrovascular cavity. |
