as given PER condition

x^{2}-3=y

Now it is given that there sum is 14 when increased by 5

i.e.,x+y+5=14

x+y=14-5

x+y=9

Now we WANT the numbers that sums 9 in place of x and y

So,if we TAKE x=3 so our y=6

             x^{2}-3=y

            3^{2}-3=6

            9-3=6

            6=6

           LHS=RHS

Hence ,VERIFIED that two unknown numbers are 3 and 6
