- The caecum is very large and SPACIOUS in herbivores such as Rabbits, Horses and Donkeys.
- The large intestine serves to store unabsorbed food remainings for a short period of time.
- The large intestine does not secrete any enzymes.
- The large intestine absorbs nutrients and water from the food that comes from the small intestine.
