Pepsinogen converts proteins into proteoses which are further converted into peptones.\t\t\tOxyntic cells or parietal cells which secrete HCl and intrinsic factors. HCl provides acidic pH 1.8 which is necessary for the action of pepsins. Intrinsic factors are required for the absorption of vitamin B12.\t |
