Production cost of all pots per day;

= (10x + 40)x = 600

10x² + 40x - 600 = 0

x² + 4 - 60 = 0

x² + 10x - 6x - 60 = 0

x(x + 10) - 6(x + 10) = 0

(x - 6)(x + 10) = 0

Either x - 6 = 0

x = 6

or x + 10 = 0

x = -10

Since the total No. of pots can not be negative, we take

x = 6

Production cost per pot = 10x + 40

= 10(6) + 40

= Rs. 100
