mass of moon is nearly 10% of the mass of earth what will be the gravitational force of the earth and the moon in comparison to the gravitational force of the moon on the earth |
|
Answer» Gravitational pull of moon is nearly 1/6 th of earth. It's numerical value is 1.63 m/s2 . Though it's mass is 10 '/, of earth but it's RADIUS is ALSO less and acceleration DUE to gravity is inversly PROPORTIONAL to square of distance from centre to surface of PLANET. So this explains why it's gravitational pull is 1/6th of earth. |
