Justify the title of the play \' the proposal \'

Answer» The play "The Proposal" is a farce written by Anton Chekov. This play is about two neighbours who have an argumentative nature. They quarrel over small and petty issues. Ivan Vassilevitch Lomov was came to his neighbour Stepan Stepanovitch Chubukov to seek the hand of his daughter Natalya Stepanova. But rather than coming to the main purpose they start quarreling. First, they quarrel about "to whom Oxen Meadows belong". As the quarrel ends, they starts another quarrel regarding their dogs Guess and Squeezer. Chubukov jumped into the quarrel and then, forcefully stops the quarrel and give the hand of her daughter Natalya in the hand of Lomov. He did not want to waste any time. They began their married life with a fresh quarrel.
The title of the play is \'The proposal\' and it is a very apt one because the whole play is about Lomov proposing Natalya. Right from the beginning to the end of the play, the story revolves round a marraige proposal. Lomov comes to Natalya\'s house to propose to her but even before he does it, they both start fighting.
