it is not advisable to put a copper or jumper wire instead of a fuse since

Answer»

f we use copper wire as fuse wire (which generally widely used in domestic electric circuit in rural and semi-urban area) , it will protect the circuit for normal overload without any problem in the circuit. But if there is short circuit in the circuit, there is every possibility of occurrence of flush-over at the fuse, which may damage entire fuse base and carrier. This may happen basically, because of high melting point of copper (1094 deg C approx). If the wire is not pure copper, melting point may be higher also.
