1.

Is it possible to get precipitate of at pH = 2 ? Give reason.

Answer»

I) hydroxide ,  is also called as hydrated iron OXIDE or yellow iron oxide. It is odourless and is insoluble at pH 7. We can obtain Iron(III) hydroxide by reacting ferric chloride with sodium hydroxide:                    The precipitate of Ferric hydroxide is not obtained at pH=2. Because Iron(III) hydroxide (Fe(OH)3 dissolves only in the STRONG acidic medium.
