Take 2 , 3 and 4 rational numbers with denominator 1

Then

2 / ( 3 / 4 ) = 2 / ( 0.75 ) = 2 / 0.75 = 2.6666....

( 2 / 3 ) / 4 = ( 0.6666.... ) / 4 = 0.1666.....

So

2 / ( 3 / 4 ) ≠ ( 2 / 3 ) / 4

Thus associative law of division is not hold in rational numbers.
