1.

In projectile motion the velocity is perpendicular to acceleration for none instant

Answer»

Explanation:

In projectile motion at any instant we have two velocities components

either in X AXIS i.e = UCOS theta

or in y axis i.e = usin theta

so if we consider a velocity which is perpendicular for an instant that would be the vertical component of the velocity at the highest point i.e usin theta.

and the acceleration is provided by acc. due to GRAVITY which is perpendicularly downwards throughout the journey.

Refer to the attachment

At highest point of projectile for an instant the value of vertical component become zero.

and the value of the acceleration due to gravity is perpendicularly downwards.
