| Answer» Solution : In alkaline MEDIUM , both the reactions, i.e., methyl acetate and alkaliare present in more or less similar concentration. During the reaction, the concentrations of both change appreciably, IMPLYING that bothreactants affect the reaction- rate. It is observed that the reaction- rate is DIRECTLY proportional to the the first power of concentration of both reactants. THUS, the overall order of the reaction is TWO. | |
