1.

In an orchard one fifth are the orange trees, 3 / 13 mango trees and rest are banana trees . if the banana trees are 148 in number find the total number of trees in the orchard

Answer» LET TOTAL NUMBER of trees be x

oranges \: are \: = \frac{1}{5}x
mango \: are \: = \frac{3}{13} x
bannana are=148
\frac{1}{5} x + \frac{1}{13 } x + 148 = x
\frac{13x + 15x + 9620}{65} = x \\ \frac{28x + 9620}{65} = x \\ 28x + 9620 = 65x \\9620 = 65x - 28x \\ 9620 = 37x \\ \frac{9620}{37} = x
