Let NUMBER of boys be X and number of percent 60%

=> If 60% are boys in a SCHOOL

than, 40% are girls in a school

=> TOTAL amount of students =( x +1200)

60% of (x + 1200) is boys (x)

$\frac{60}{100} \times (x + 1200) = x$

$\frac{3}{5} (x + 1200) = x$

$3x + 3600 = 5x$

$2x = 3600$

$x = 1800$

Number of boys are 1800
