solution:

At starting number of trees are 40,000.

Objective is to increase 5%

so 5% of 40,000 = (5*40000)/100

= 20,0000/100

= 2000

In one years 2000 PLANTS to be planted,so in three years = 3*2000 trees

= 6000 trees

Expected number of tree after 3 years = 46,000 trees.

2) If 5% is calculated on present trees
after 1 year TOTAL trees 42,000.

5% of 42,000= (5*42000)/100

=2100

after second year trees are 42000+2100

= 44100 trees

5% of 44100 = (5*44100)/100
= 2205

after 3 year expected trees= 44100+2205

= 46305 trees.

I had solved by both way,as from QUESTION it is not cleared .
