| Answer» Rowlatt Act 1919 authorised the Government:\tTo arrest and imprison any person without trial in a court of law.\tTo demand security from any person, impose restriction on residence, curb freedom of activities, to search house and arrest any person, at any place.\tIt also authorised the government to detain such people arrested for up to 2 years without trial.\tIt empowered the police to search a place without a warrant.\tIt also placed severe restrictions on the freedom of the press. | |
