1.

if two tangents includined an angle of 60 are drawn to a circle of radius 3 centimetre then find the length of each tangents

Answer»

ANSWER:

Let PA and PB be the TWO tangents to  a CIRCLE with centre O and RADIUS 3

∴∠APO=∠BPO

=21×∠APB

=21×600

=300

Also, OA⊥AP and OB⊥BP

In a right angled triangle OAP,

tan300=PA3

⇒31=PA3

⇒PA=33cm

⇒PA=PB=33 CM
