Given ,
Product of two numbers = 432
L.C.M. of those numbers = 72
H.C.F. of those numbers = ?
Let the H.C.F of those numbers be X.
We know that,
Product of two numbers = Their L.C.M × Their H.C.F
Let's substitute the values which we know in this known relation.
We have to solve this equation for x.
We will solve it by the method of substitution.
=> 432=x × 72
=> Transposing 72 to other side, we get :-
=> x= 432/72
=> We can write 432 as 72× 6. Substitution it in the equation, we get :-
=> x= (72×6)/72
=> 72 will be cancelled out by from both the numerator as well as denominator, because 72 is a common factor. After this, we get:-
=> x=6.
So , the value of x is 6
Therefore,
H.C.F. = x = 6.
