To answer this we first need to understand the PURPOSE of the nucleus. A cells nuclei has two major functions:

it is a condensed double membrane STORAGE for the cell's GENETIC material (DNA)It uses DNA as an instruction Manuel to store heriditary info and coordinate the cell's primary activities (ie. growth, protein synthesis, reproduction, etc.)

In SHORT:remove the nucleus and a cellwill die since it won’t have the instructions to grow, function, and reproduce.

(Exceptions: prokaryotes/ most blood cells)

Now for the fun stuff: Though the nucleus houses the instructions for functions necessary for life. 2 major examples (☝) stand out in which it is not required: bacteria don’t need a defined nucleus, most of their genetic material floats around with the other organelles. The other being blood cells which only have nuclei as they are maturing with the marrow
