if mole fraction of water in aqueous solution of cacl2 is 0.9 what is the mass of solution???? ( molar mass of cacl2 is 111)

Answer»

As per the FORMULA

X1+X2= 1

Here X1 REPRESENTS MOLE fraction of solvent and X2 represents mole fraction of solute

X1 =0.9 then X2=0.1

If mass of water is 100g and molar mass is 18

Moles 1=100/18=5.55

X1=moles 1/total moles

Total moles = 5.55/0.9=6.17

X2= moles 2/ total moles

Moles 2=0.1×6.17=0.617

Moles 2= weight /molar mass

Weight=0.617×111=68.5g

I hope this HELPS ( ╹▽╹ )
