Solution:

Let the total money be x.

³/₅ x of money is spent {GIVEN}

Amount of money left = Rs. 1000 {Given}


Fraction of money left = x - ³/₅ x


= ²/₅ x



So, ²ˣ/₅ = 1000


x = ¹⁰⁰⁰ *⁵/₂


x = 2500


Ans: Rs. 2500 was the total amount of money.
