If the cost of making pottery on a particular day was Rs 168, then calculate how many POTS were made that day. ? Solution :- LET us assume that, the number of pottery made daily is x . so, → cost of each pot = Rs. (2x + 5) then, → Total pottery * cost of each = Total cost → x * (2x + 5) = 168 → 2x² + 5x - 168 = 0 → 2x² -16x + 21x - 168 = 0 → 2x(x - 8) + 21(x - 8) = 0 → (x - 8)(2x + 21) = 0 → x = 8 or (-21/2) . since negative value is not possible.
