♠️ Kirchoff's first law states that "At any junction the SUM of current entering the junction is equal to the sum of the current leaving the junction."

♠️ Kirchoff's second law states that "The algebraic sum of change in potential around a closed loop is zero."

♠️Steps to apply Kirchoff's law:-

  • Draw current from one or more cell.

  • Choose direction of loop either clockwise or anti clockwise.

  • Now if uh go from higher potential to lower potential then it is potential drop. Therefore ∆v should be negative.

  • If uh go from lower potential to higher potential then ∆v should be positive.

  • If inside the cell path is negative then ∆v is positive. If inside the resistor path is opposite to current then ∆v is positive.
