1.

how much per cent above the cost price should a shopkeeper mark his goods so that after allowing a discount of 20%on the marked price ,he gain 12%

Answer»

LET CP= Rs. 100

Gain (given) = 12%

SP = CP+CP(G%)/100

SP= Rs. 112

He is giving 20% DISCOUNT on MP,

So,

MP - 20% of MP = SP

MP - (20/100) * MP = 112

100 MP - 20 MP = 112 * 100

80 MP = 11200

MP = 11200/80

MP = Rs.140

Hope this helps you :)
