Solution:

  • Now we have given that Azimuthal quantum number can have VALUE of x from:

                    0 to ( n + 1 )

  • So :

                    for n = 1,  l = 0, 1, 2  

                    for n = 2, l = 0, 1, 2, 3

  • Now we have (n+l) rule, so APPLYING it , we get the sub shell  
  • The order being

                    1s, 1p , 2s, ...

  • Total Number of such element possible will be:

                    2 x  ( capacity of 1s SUBSHELL ) + 6 x ( capacity of 1p subshell )

                    = 8 elements

ANSWER:

           So 8 elements are possible for 1 st periodic table.
