Also referred to as POLITICAL ELECTIONS, this competition ensures that power does not remain in one hand. Thus, in the long run, power is actually getting switched between different political parties after regular intervals. Whereas in other democracies, this form of power sharing is direct as political parties, during elections, form political alliances and adopt a common programme. When in power, these political alliances form coalition governments and thus, power is shared.
