Answer» Ovaries release ovum or egg once every 28 days from the age of puberty and uterus prepares itself to receive a fertilised egg. Thus,its lining becomes thick and spongy.If the egg is not fertilised it lives for about a day and afterwards this lining of uterus is no longer required and menstruation occurs. Every month uterus prepares itself for fertilization by making a thick wall but when fertilization doesn\'t occur it looses all its wall in the form of blood and this process is called mensuration |
