How can we distinguish chemically between a cooking oil and butter???

1.	How can we distinguish chemically between a cooking oil and butter???
Answer» By using bromine water....... Butter do not decolourise bromine water showing that it is a saturated hydrocarbon........but cooking oil decolourises bromine water showing that it is a unsaturated hydrocarbon.
