Answer» We can distinguish between butter and cooking oil by Bromine water test . It is reddish brown In colour .If substance decolourised the Bromine water than it is unsaturated .If substance donot colourise the Bromine water than it is saturated. Butter is unsaturated solution and cooking oil is saturated solution
