Compounds means which can be broken down into elements by CHEMICAL or electrochemical REACTIONS. Mixtures are classified as homogeneous and heterogeneous. Here homogeneous means uniform COMPOSITION. Heterogeneous means non uniform composition. Substance is a fixed composition. Mixture is not a fixed composition.
