The really increase the surface area for exchange of gases. They have a balloon like structure that maximize the surface area for exchange of gases The bronchioles is rhe balloon like structure called alveoli. It provide the extensive area for exchange of gases.. Inside lungs the pair of air passage divides into smaller and smaller tubes which finally terminate in balloon like structure called alveloli . These alveoli contain ab extensive network of blood vessels and in this way provide a large surface where the exchange of gasses can take places |
