HEY GUYS PLEASE HELP ME SOLVE THIS QUESTION!! No faking Okay!!An Iron sphere of mass 10kg is dropped from a height of 80cm. If the downward acceleration of the ball is 10m/s^2, calculate the momentum transferred to thw ground by the ball.

Answer»

ʜᴇʟʟᴏ ᴍᴀᴛᴇ!

First LET's APPLY third equation of motion

v² - u² = 2as

80 CM in m = 80/100 or 0.8 m

v² - 0 = 2(10)(0.8)

V = √16

v = 4 m/s

As we know that

Momentum = Mass × Velocity

P = mv

P = (10)(4)

P = 40 kg m/s

Hope it helps
