1.

Given the area of a triangle to be 6cm square and line QR is 3cm find line PR

Answer»

Area of triangle = 0.5 x Base x Height

6 = 0.5 x 3 x PQ

PQ = 6 ÷ 1.5

PQ = 4cm

Since, this is a right-angled triangle, applying Pythagoras theorem,

PR = \(\sqrt{3^2 + 4^2}\)

= \(\sqrt{9+16}\)

= 5 cm
