➡ LIMITATIONS OF DIMENSIONAL ANALYSIS


-☆We can't find out the numerical constant of a GIVEN relation .

For eg. --- Kinetic energy = 1/2 mv^2

But with the help of dimensional formula we can't find out 1/2

If a physical quantity depends on more than 7 other physical quantities , we can't find their relation .



This method is RESTRICTED for FINDING relationship involving product of POWER function .


Even if a physical quantity depends on small no. of physical quantities ,we can't determine their relationship if any two of them have same dimensional formula .

For eg . ---. Displacement and distance have same dimensional formula .So we can't determine whether it's displacement or distance with the help of dimensional formula.
