1.

Give the function of the following organelles in a cell . 1. leucoplast

Answer»

Answer:

The main FUNCTION of leucoplasts is storage.  Leucoplasts are plastids FOUND in plants where photosynthesis does not take place.

Being present in roots and tubers and VARIOUS other "non-photosynthetic" parts of the plants, they store substances like lipids, an array of proteins and carbohydrates in the form of 'starch'.

In addition to storage, the other function performed by leucoplasts is synthesis. It MAY be a synthesis of amino acids or various fatty acids or any other bio-product synthesis.
