Generally when metals are treated with mineral acids, hydrogen gas is liberated but when metals are treated with HNO3 hydrogen gas is not liberated,why? |

Answer» Thanks for asking the question. Here's your answer Generally when metals are TREATED with acids they give RISE to hydrogen gas. But HNO3(nitric acid) is a strong oxidising agent which no metal has the ability to displace hydrogen from it. I Hope this answer helps you. |
