lood is a liquid connective tissue.It consists of BLOOD plasma and blood corpuscles.Blood corpuscles are of three types:Red Blood Corpuscles (RBC)White Blood Corpuscles (WBC)Blood PlateletsRed Blood Corpuscles:These are biconcave disc-like STRUCTURES and their cytoplasm is filled with haemoglobin.RBC's are manufactured in bone marrow.Their life span is about 120 days.After that they are destroyed by liver and spleen.Their small size helps in ABSORBING oxygen and enables them to travel in blood capillaries.White Blood Corpuscles:These are nucleated and amoeboid CELLS that lack haemoglobin. These are of two types: granulocytes and agranulocytes.They are manufactured in bone marrow. They are capable of squeezing out capillaries that destroy FOREIGN matter.They are known as the soldiers of the body.
