Function of guard cell in stomata |

Answer» Guard cell is responsible for opening and closing of stomata. Guard cells are kidney beans shaped cells surrounding stomata.Stomata are present on epidermis ,epidermal cells doesn\'t contains chloroplast but guard cells have good amount of chloroplast . Guard cells regulate the opening and closing of stomata to facilitate gas exchange and control transpiration in plants. They help to regulate the rate of transpiration in plants by opening and closing. |
