1.

For which values of h does the following pair of equations have unique solutions?9x + hy = 73x + 2y = 61. All value except 32. All value except 63. All value except 14. All value except 4

Answer» Correct Answer - Option 2 : All value except 6

Given:

9x + hy = 7

3x + 2y = 6

Concept used:

If (a1/a2) ≠ (b1/b2) then the system of equations a1x + b1y + c1 = 0 and

a2x + b2y + c2 = 0 has a unique solution

Calculation:

9x + hy – 7 = 0 ....(1)

where, a1 = 9, b1 = h and c1 = -7

3x + 2y – 6 = 0

where, a2 = 3, b2 = 2 and c2 = -6 ....(2)

According to the question

(a1/a2) ≠ (b1/b2)

⇒ (9/3) ≠ (h/2)

⇒ 3 ≠ h/2

⇒ h ≠ 6

∴ Required answer is all value except 6
