It is given that ,

( 2x + 1 )/( 3x - 2 ) = ( 3x - 4 )/( x + 8 )

( 2x + 1 )( x + 8 ) = ( 3x - 4 )( 3x - 2 )

2x² + 16X + x + 8 = 9x² - 6x - 12x + 8

2x² + 17x + 8 = 9x² - 18x + 8

0 = 9x² - 18x + 8 - 2x² - 17x - 8

0 = 7x² - 35x

7x² - 35x = 0

7x( x - 5 ) = 0

Therefore ,

7x = 0 or x - 5 = 0

x = 0 or x = 5
