1.

For rain water harvesting a tank of length 10 m, breadth 6 m and depth 3m is built. What is the capacity of the tank ? How many litre of water can it hold?

Answer»

Length of tank , l = 10m
BREADTH of tank , b = 6M
depth of tank , h = 3M

\textbf{capacity of tank means,}\\\textbf{ <klux>VOLUME</klux> of tank or the amount}\\\textbf{ of space occupied by tank}
so, volume of tank = length × breadth × depth
= 10m × 6m × 3m = 180 m³

we know, 1 L = 1000cm³ = 10^-3 m³
or , 1 m³ = 1000 L
so, 180m³ = 180, 000 L = 1,80, 000 L

hence, water can hold 1,80,000 L
