1.

Factorise-a2+1 - 6/a2

Answer»

GIVEN:

  • a^<klux>2</klux> + 1 - \frac{6}{a^2} = 0

To FIND:

  • Factories the given equation.

Solution:

       ⇒     a^2 + 1 - \frac{6}{a^2} = 0

       ⇒          \frac{a^4 + a^2 - 6 }{a^2} = 0

       ⇒     a^4 + a^2 - 6 = 0

REWRITING the equation splitting the middle term using the two factors ,  -2  and  3

       ⇒    a^4 - 2a^2 + 3a^2 - 6 = 0

       ⇒   a^2 (a^2-2) + 3 (a^2 - 2) = 0

       ⇒   (a^2-2) (a^2 + 3) = 0

      This is the desired FACTORIZATION.
